Saw lots of smiling faces soaking up the vitamin D on the range at Brunello this morning. The snow was fairly chunky on the trail and the grass was exposed in some areas but you could still ski over it. ... See MoreSee Less
dollar lake is in good condition! parking lot is not plowed so be careful. grooming is rough but the snow is soft enough to not cause any issues and there's lots of coverage. ... See MoreSee Less
just did a quick renovation groom....it's really good out here
Did anyone go to Dollar today? Any idea if the snow survived? Looking for the best option for tomorrow.
Thanks Julian Marchant (and Roland) for the grooming, pretty sweet skiing there, this afternoon.
#BrunelloTrails the range is good, a bit chunky in spots. ... See MoreSee Less
With only a couples of cm of snow depth we can not run the grinders on snow because it would damage the grass beneath.
We miss the grinders this morning, because it's pretty hard-packed and rutty. Good for practicing controlled falls😀 BTW; there was a gent looking to rent skiis this morning but said there was no-one manning the clubhouse.
What a day! Come ski The Links at Brunello then stop into the clubhouse for coffee. The groomers have done a great job grooming the driving range. The cart paths are not recommended as the wind blew the snow off and exposed a lot of concrete. Don’t have skis? Call the Brunello pro shop as they have adult skate skis to rent. Call in advance to make sure they have your size still available. ( reposting Jim’s photo below- 1000+ words!) ... See MoreSee Less
My route this morning, driving range was nice for a workout, to mix it up I ventured as far as it looked safe on the cart paths
Photo of the season? 😉😍❄💙
Oh ! just beautiful.
The Long Lake Trail off of Dunbrack has a good base for classic for the 5 k trail around the lake. The top is crusty and icy but there have been other skiers and tracks that have broken the icy surface to create a trail. ... See MoreSee Less
The bowl and driving range at Brunello are groomed and are reportedly quite good. The cart paths have windswept patches and are not recommended. ... See MoreSee Less

The storm was a little disappointing, high winds and not a ton of snow. The clubs best bets will be Grave-Oakley and the Brunello driving range and the both should be groomed by late afternoon tomorrow. The temps are all over the place the next 3 days so expect hard frozen conditions early in am and softer as temp cross zero each day. I would not use my best skis as there are thin spots everywhere due to the highwinds.
We will assess Smiley's and Dollar for weekend grooming when the snow dries. ... See MoreSee Less
Thank you for the comprehensive updates and for all of your work!
Lots of snow out WIndsor way. Smileys will probably be good
While our groomers have “groomed” Graves Oakley the wind whipped away the snow as fast as they could groom @ #GOTrails. We’re going to hold off on further grooming until the wind dies down and we can set a track. Looking to ski today? Point Pleasant, Long Lake, York Redoubt ( windy?), BLT, Shubie Park... and the many sheltered trails through HRM woodlands are perfect for classic skiing today. Post a picture! ... See MoreSee Less
Let me edit... meant York Redoubt

hi! new skier here :) this might be a silly question, but where do you ski at Duncan's Cove? I've only ever hiked the coastal trail and I can't picture skiing on that terrain. thanks!
Get out there Sophie Hebert!
Snow day! Are you looking to rent cross country skis in HRM? Mike at The Trail Shop on Quinpool gives an overview of adult and youth skis for rent as well as purchase. Pick up a pair while the snow lasts. ❄️ Halifax Nordic will post to Facebook when our trails are groomed, in the meantime, Point Pleasant and the many trails around HRM will be great for classic. ... We will groom the trails ASAP following the snow. Given the forecast and temps our job will be easier if people stay off the groomed areas till we post up that they are ready. If you have the need to ski during the storm check out Point Pleasant, Long Lake or your local field system. We will get the parks open once temps and moisture allow. Groomers will thank you !! ...
