Brunello, MSP and Oakfield are are no longer recommended for skiing.
The snowbowl is good and open for weekend but we need another 3 or 4 days to complete the fill. It will be great for lessons.
Smiley and Dollar are very good but thin use with care ... See MoreSee Less

Beautiful evening ski at Dollar Lake. Lots of snow. Thanks to groomer Mark Campbell it looks like the Gatineau Parkways! We were skating but the tracks were good too except for the rare patch that was down to gravel. Tracks are only on the upper loops.
Mark let us know you’re home and warm now! ... See MoreSee Less
Lucky to have such dedicated volunteers taking care of the membership. Roland is also a big part of the Dartmouth crew

Thank you so much for the wonderful grooming job!! We managed to ski 12km after work ❤️ is there a way to get a sign kindly asking pedestrian to walk on the side of the ski trails and not in the middle?..... Would make the ride more smooth.. but I know it’s a common problem at a lot of places anywhere there is skiing 😉
Heading there tomorrow!

For those who like gentle slopes with fast groomed trails, Oakfield golf course was great today (Tues morning). ... See MoreSee Less
Great photo John and thanks for the update, it’s really helpful for us to get the feedback on how trails are holding up through the day. Oakfield is a new venue for us too, so understanding how skiers find it, if skiers are using it is really helpful. Enjoy the snow!
Halifax Nordic Ski Club is at The Links at Brunello.

Sharing this video from Monday night Nordic ski lessons at The Links at Brunello last night. Conditions were fast on the driving range. Skiers had fun out with headlamps on the snow. ... See MoreSee Less
Our first Social Ski night is tonight at The Links at Brunello 7-8pm. Come join us at Brunello, dress warmly (-16) and bring a headlamp. Conditions are fast so the driving range is recommended for beginner and intermediate skiers. The cart paths are groomed, but only recommended for advanced skiers due to bare patches and ice. We have groomed for skate skiing. There will be rental skis and passes available for non-members for $20. Where to ski:
Beginners and intermediate skiers. There is a flat area at the top of the driving range that is best for beginners.
Advanced skiers. Cart paths are groomed but wind and rain left ice & bare spots. Use extreme caution if skiing cart paths at night tonight.
Thanks to our sponsor The Trail Shop. ... See MoreSee Less
HNSC Trails update:
Graves Oakely - Closed icy/no snow
Brunello - Open but ski with caution Hard packed thin snow with some ice/bare spot due to wind and rain and with thin base no ability to regroom. SNOW MAKING CONTINUES AND WE HOPE TO BE READY FOR THE WEEKEND !!
MSP - Hard and icy due to traffic is rain and then freezing to ice. Skiable but use caution
Dollar lake and Smiley park did not get rain and both have wonderful soft snow and a base.
Oakfield Golf and Country Club - condition are good to great with a couple of windswept patches but reports indicate a very nice ski
AS ALWAYS use caution when skiing conditions change fast and often especially in HRM ... See MoreSee Less
What is dollar lake like to ski in the evening? Are there lights along the trail or bring a headlamp?
Where does one start at Oakfield-at the park gates or the golf course gates?
Gotta say it was pretty cool skiing The Links at Brunello on one of the trails & skiing through the snow mist from the snow guns on the bowl. Some awesome work being done!
Head-lamp night skiing at Brunello - sort of magical
Thank you!! Now we need to decide where to ski tonight! Great problem to have! 😂
The rains were not kind to our city venues. Brunello is good for an advanced skier. If less than expert try tge range area. MSP was ice pockets from the walkers but ok. GO could not be salvaged. Outside the city is mint Smileys and Oakfield are groomed. ... See MoreSee Less
Dollar lake system is groomed up nicely as well. Complete with classic track on all except the first 700mtr. section.
Brunello was not bad. A few icy spots and a few bare patches. The descents were fast & fun as the temps dropped. Def not for beginners!
Thank you for the update and for the great work!! How many km are skiable at Smiley and Oakfield?
Thank you for this update and all the grooming today. Smileys it is for tomorrow!!!
