Dollar Lake Update: Please do not ski or use #DollarTrails until further notice. After temps drop on Monday night we will wander out and hopefully the rain will have passed through the unpacked snow. Skiing Monday will create ice.

Thank you Halifax Water for hooking up the water at The Links at Brunello. This begins the next phase in Halifax Nordic's snow making project..

TESTING: The staff at Brunello will be out this week to test the new infrastructure for snow making.

2019 SET UP: We have a new shed (pic 1), plumbing (pic 2), two pumps, 4 snow guns, hoses (pic 3), a drainage system for the water and a new landscaped loop for skiing.

THIS WEEK: The staff at Brunello will be testing the new lines, hoses and equipment and we will keep you posted on progress. In pic 3 below, you can see all the equipment set up in the loop, waiting for the temperatures to drop.

Snow making is an ambitious project we launched last year to bring more consistent snow and a longer season for our Halifax Nordic members. This is a new project for Halifax Nordic as well as Brunello and we appreciate everyone's patience as we work through the testing phase of the new equipment and we will bring you snow as soon as we can.

Funds for this $75,000 project are coming from the Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage, the Links at Brunello, Cross Country Nova Scotia, club sponsors as well as the club’s GoFundMe Snowmaking campaign. We will continue to bring you updates on our progress.
