Urgent Need for Coaches for Upcoming Season

Our volunteer coaches are the backbone of our Youth and Adult Programming. Unfortunately, the interest in our programming far exceeds what we can offer with our current coaching group. We had to turn away many people from programming last year and expect this year to be no different. Coaching is usually a 6-8 week commitment. Because of the great set-up at Brunello we are able to offer lessons on weekdays and weekends, and both daytime and evenings, making it easier to volunteer for some.

"The coaches made my son feel special and important. They did a wonderful job of celebrating small victories for each kid. He would say, "I so proud of myself" in the car on the way home." - Youth Participant Parent

"I loved the supportive and welcoming environment. Cross country skiing turned out to be a very accepting 'culture'. Our coaches were extremely knowledgeable, kind, helpful and patient! Thank you!"- Adult Participant.

Once they get started, our coaches return year after year, as they enjoy sharing the love of XC skiing. The club very much values the role of our volunteer coaches and offers a free membership for coaches as well as supporting any of the training that is required. Please reach out ASAP to melanie.macdermid@gmail.com if you want to join this great group of coaches.

Enjoy groomed trails at Haliburton House and Shand Museum. Areas of the trails are designed for skiers, hikers and dog walkers. Sliding is also popular!

👉😎 There’s something for everyone, right in the heart of Windsor.

A partnership between the Municipality of Windsor West Hants and Halifax Nordic Ski Club (HNSC). If you enjoy the groomed trails regularly, consider purchasing a HNSC membership to off-set maintenance costs.

You people have done a great job. Thank you.

The snow like nice but not really good for major grooming. The ground is wet and soft and the winds are howling. By the time we groom our parks in the am the snow will be melting and rocks will be exposed quickly.

Are only grooming effort will be Graves- Oakley Field. It is roughed in now but blowing a gale, it will be regroomed in am.

Looks like it may be working based on Friday's forecast! Do we have any idea of whether Brunello, Oakfield, etc will groom if we get the snow? Will only last for the weekend so perhaps it is not worth the effort.

Extraordinary people are the reason our sport continues to grow. They're behind groomed trails, program participant smiles, and the ease of signing-up from home computers.

Show your appreciation for volunteers by nominating someone who has gone above and beyond during the pandemic, to ensure you could enjoy cross-country skiing.

I think the headband belongs to Lorenzo Caterini.

That is not a headband it is an extra layer if the wind briefs fail
