Halifax Nordic offers cross country ski lessons based on Cross Country Canada’s Skill Development Programs for Children. The overall objective of the program is to assist children in the development of a love of the outdoors, a healthy lifestyle, excellent technical skills and a good level of physical fitness.
Winter Learn-to-ski Programs
Saturdays, January 11 – Feb 29 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m at Brunello.
Mondays January 11 – Feb 29 from 6:45-7:45 at Brunello
To adapt to Nova Scotia’s challenging winters, Halifax Nordic has implemented snowmaking at Brunello, which may allow more on-snow sessions, however, lessons will proceed each Saturday unless it is dangerous to be out (too cold or too icy)! Instructors will have creative options to make lessons fun and instructive with or without snow, and may suggest a change of location to your group the night before to take advantage of local conditions.
Program materials include a toque or buff, a kid-friendly, age-appropriate booklet or poster and skill award stickers
