24 more hours of snowmaking then we start the grooming of the snow bowl. We expect to have it open for Friday thru Sunday then depending on snow depth we may make more next week
Our first Social Ski night is tonight at The Links at Brunello 7-8pm. Come join us at Brunello, dress warmly (-16) and bring a headlamp. Conditions are fast so the driving range is recommended for beginner and intermediate skiers. The cart paths are groomed, but only recommended for advanced skiers due to bare patches and ice. We have groomed for skate skiing. There will be rental skis and passes available for non-members for $20. Where to ski:
Beginners and intermediate skiers. There is a flat area at the top of the driving range that is best for beginners.
Advanced skiers. Cart paths are groomed but wind and rain left ice & bare spots. Use extreme caution if skiing cart paths at night tonight.

Thanks to our sponsor The Trail Shop.
HNSC took Maritime Cup by storm...literally. Despite very cold temperatures on Day 1 and lots and lots of snow on Day 2, HNSC members found themselves on the podium 15 times!!!! Congratulations to all our members who participated and thank you Wostawea for hosting another excellent event.
Smileys is not groomed- It does not have enough snow to groom and there are spots with gravel poking through. That said, if you are desperate for a ski, dress warmly and have old classic skis you could venture out. If you stick to the snow drifts and paths through the trees, in the valley portion, it is good for a Saturday afternoon in the woods along meandering trails and over occasional gravel and rocks.
Halifax Nordic All programming- CANCELLED Jan 18th. Lessons in -17 (-23 windchill), no fun. Also the wind took away the snow tracks we had prepped on the driving range Thursday.

Instructors will be emailing classes to let them know the plan.
